A screenshot shows us what you saw. A recording shows us what happened. Both are built into your device — you do not need any extra software.
Windows

Win+Shift+Sto select an area, orWin+PrtScnto save the whole screen to Pictures › Screenshots. - Recording:
Win+Alt+Rstarts and stops the Xbox Game Bar recorder. Files land in Videos › Captures. - On Steam:
F12takes a screenshot; find them under View › Screenshots.
iOS
- Screenshot: press the side button and the volume up button together.
- Recording: add Screen Recording to Control Centre in Settings › Control Centre, then start it from there.
Android
- Screenshot: press the power button and volume down together.
- Recording: open quick settings and use Screen record. The exact name varies by manufacturer.
Sending it to us
Attach the file to your support request. Keep recordings short — ten to twenty seconds around the moment is more useful than several minutes of play.
